Terms and conditions for participation in CYD programs and services.

Acceptance of Terms
By registering for or participating in Calgary Youth Development Soccer Academy ("CYD", "we", "us", or "our") programs, you agree to be bound by these terms and conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not register for or participate in our programs. These terms apply to all participants, parents, guardians, and visitors to our facilities and website.
Registration and Enrollment
Registration Requirements
- Complete registration form with accurate information
- Provide emergency contact information
- Submit any required medical information
- Payment of applicable fees
- Signed waiver and release forms
Age Groups and Placement
Players are placed in age-appropriate groups based on their birth year. CYD reserves the right to move players between groups to ensure appropriate skill level and safety considerations.
Payment Terms
Fees and Payment
- Monthly fees are due on the 1st of each month
- Late payment fee of $25 applies after 10 days
- Registration fees are non-refundable
- Payment can be made by e-transfer, credit card, or cash
- NSF checks incur a $35 fee
Refund Policy
- 30-day notice required for program withdrawal
- Pro-rated refunds available for medical withdrawals with doctor's note
- No refunds for missed sessions due to player absence
- Weather-related cancellations will be made up or credited
Program Policies
Attendance and Participation
- Regular attendance is expected for optimal development
- Notify coaches of planned absences when possible
- Players must arrive on time and prepared for training
- Appropriate soccer attire and equipment required
Behavior and Conduct
- Respectful behavior toward coaches, players, and parents
- No tolerance for bullying, discrimination, or inappropriate language
- Parents must model positive sideline behavior
- Violation of conduct policies may result in suspension or dismissal
Safety and Medical Policies
Health and Safety
- Players must be in good health to participate
- Notify coaches of any medical conditions or injuries
- CYD staff are trained in basic first aid
- Emergency procedures are in place for all activities
- Players with contagious illnesses should not attend
Insurance and Liability
CYD carries general liability insurance. However, participants are encouraged to maintain their own health and accident insurance. CYD is not responsible for personal property loss or damage.
Liability and Risk Acknowledgment
Important: Soccer involves inherent risks of injury. Please read carefully.
By participating in CYD programs, participants and parents/guardians acknowledge that:
- Soccer activities involve inherent risks of injury
- Participation is voluntary and at your own risk
- CYD, its staff, and volunteers are released from liability for injuries
- You assume full responsibility for any injuries or damages
- You have adequate insurance coverage for potential injuries
Photography and Media Release
CYD may take photographs and videos during programs for promotional purposes. By registering, you consent to the use of your child's image in CYD marketing materials unless you specifically opt out in writing.
Images will only be used for legitimate promotional purposes and will not be sold to third parties.
Cancellations and Weather Policy
Weather Cancellations
- Programs may be cancelled due to severe weather conditions
- Decisions are made 2 hours before scheduled sessions when possible
- Notifications sent via email and text message
- Make-up sessions will be scheduled when possible
Program Changes
CYD reserves the right to modify program schedules, locations, or content as necessary. Participants will be notified of any significant changes with reasonable advance notice.
Intellectual Property
All CYD training methods, materials, and content are proprietary. Participants may not record, reproduce, or distribute any training content without written permission. The CYD name and logo are trademarks and may not be used without authorization.
Governing Law and Disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of Alberta, Canada. Any disputes will be resolved through mediation or arbitration in Calgary, Alberta. If any provision of these terms is found invalid, the remaining provisions will continue in effect.
